I had to postpone Tuesday Treasures this week because this little treasure got his tonsils out on Tuesday. He was such a trooper. The nurses commented on how “mature” he acted, and he truly did. He didn’t freak out, did everything that was asked of him, and didn’t shed a single tear… some of us may not have handled it as well. In my defense, if watching your firstborn wheeled into an operating room (even for a simple procedure) doesn’t bring a tear to your eye, I don’t know what will! The staff was a little taken aback when I asked beforehand if they’d ever accidentally killed anyone. (They had not.) But, hey, you gotta cover your bases, right?
Anyway, all is well again. Little man is being showered in board games and movies and popsicles. He enthusiastically commented, “I want to get my tonsils out every week!” Sheesh. We’ve created a monster.
Originally, he was scheduled to have his tonsils out in early June, but I had to have an emergency gall bladder removal at that time. And just eight months before that, my husband had to have an appendectomy. I’m holding my little girl tight, as I have a sneaking suspicious that fate might be eyeballing her spleen or pinky toe or some other nonessential body part to confiscate.
Besides having this surgery out of our way, here are some things I’m loving this week:
