Welcome to Peachy Hill! We’re Amy and Annie, two moms, wives, teachers, and friends who live in rural Kansas. Our houses are separated by a landmark known around these parts as Peachy Hill, thus the name of our blog. We met as teachers at the local high school, and decided to start this blog as a way to share our projects, photos, recipes, and ideas with each other… and the world! We tell our students to share their passions with the world — to be producers, not just consumers. So why not take our own advice, right? We hope you find something interesting, entertaining, or otherwise useful on our little blog. If you want to talk, drop us a line! We’d love to hear from you.
Amy is a thirty-something teacher who loves living in the country – from fishing to baking, she loves all things down-home living. Except maybe the chiggers. Amy is our resident cooking and photography guru. She loves experimenting with new recipes and reinventing comfort food classics.
As a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at the local high school, her career is devoted to helping her students understand the fine art of food, finance, and domesticity. Amy lives just west of Peachy Hill with her husband, PJ, and daughter, Ellie.
Despite having grown up on a farm, Annie is not as in love with country living as Amy. It’s growing on her, especially since employing the services of an amazing pest control expert. Annie loves writing, design, reading, teaching, and technology.
Annie lives just east of Peachy Hill and is mother to two children – Bodhi (4) and Lila (2) – and is married to her hubby of six years, Jared. She recently gave up her glamorous life in public education for the even more glamorous world of stay-at-home motherhood. Annie is also a freelance writer.
